Zoji La
Zojila Pass is an elevated mountain pass that is placed on the Indian NH 1D. The pass is connecting the cities like Srinagar and Leh in the western region of Himalayan mountain range. Zoji La is 9 km from Sonmarg city and it is the main connection between Ladakh and Kashmir. Zoji Pass is around 13,000 feet above sea surface, at 34.17 latitude and 74.50 longitudes.
Zoji La pass is closed during winter however the Border Roads Organisation is working to cover the traffic to most parts of the year. The pass remains sealed half of the year as of intense snowfall and opens in the latter part of the spring season. Border Roads Organisation is responsible for clearing and maintenance of the road. The Zoji La Pass is a significant position that is bordered by the Kashmir. At the time of Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 the Fotu La Pass Ladakh was detained by Pakistani raiders in the year 1948. There were 60 landslide spots found in this route. The Zoji La climate is dry due to which the roads are opens earlier than expected. After reaching the Zoji Pass tourist can view the remarkable view of the enormous Himalayan Mountains that makes the ride worth. Zoji La Pass is 434 kilometers long highway stretch of ladakh. Zoji La Pass is measured as the riskiest passes in this area. The Zojila Pass observes vicious winds because of the conical shape and severe blizzard.
