Kyang
Tibetan Wild Ass is also known as Kyang in Ladakhi language. Tourist can see Equua Kiang in Ladakh in various regions. The Kyang can be seen in Rupshu and Changthang province like including Tsomoriri, Chumur, Chushul, Tsokar and Markha valley.
Characteristics of Kiang
The Characteristics of Kiang is that the weight of the Ass is around 250 to 400 kilograms. At the time of August and September the weights of the Kyang is increased up to 45 kilograms. Kiang is reddish-brown on the back and white on the tummy and the males and females look same only. There are large number of Equua Kiang in Ladakh of around 1400 and 1900. The diet of the Equua Kiang is grasses. The body length of the Kiang is around 210-230 cm. The Kyang lives in high elevation in Trans-Himalayan cold desert. Kiang lives in groups and they are divided in herds.
