Taglangla Pass
Taglangla Pass is on the way to Leh from Manali at over 17000 ft. The elevation of Taglangla Pass is 5,328 meters beyond the sea level and is high mountain pass in ladakh. Taglang la is the second largest mountain pass in ladakh. The nearest settlement to the Taglang La pass is sarchu and towards Manali and Upshi towards Leh. Upshi is a halt on the route to Leh where tourists can have cup of tea. The distance from Upshi to Leh is just a half an hour drive. Taglang La Pass can mainly get disturbing for the initial time riders. In Taglangla Pass is there are a temple and a marker stone with the altitude of the pass mentioned on it. There is holy place and many number of sign board to help the traveller and provide details about altitude of the pass.
Taglang La at 5.3 Kms is a resting place for nomadic Changpa herdsmen who can be seen with their flocks of sheep and goats, migrating in search of pasture, it is in Zanskar range. Taglang La Pass Ladakh is sometimes incorrectly claimed to be the world's second highest motor able pass. It is, however, the second highest motor able mountain pass in India after Khardung La and is reached via 21 Gata loops. It is located along the Leh-Manali Highway.
