Rchan
Snow Leopard is known as Rchan in Ladakh and they are the attractive cats of the world. They are mostly seen in the mountainous region of Ladakh. You can view the snow leopard in Hemis National Park and Zanskar valley. There are overall 250 to 350 animals in the Ladakh region. They are also found in the alpine zone of the main Himalayan range. The leopards are listed as Rare in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Animals.
Snow Leopard Habitat
The Snow Leopard Habitat is that they live in the isolated Rocky Mountains and they are found dwelling individually. The leopards have well developed back limbs and muscles because of that it can jump up to 6 meters. The male Snow Leopard is regional and marks their lands with urine, feces and leftovers. The hairs of the Rchan are dense and soft and they are also the king of snowcapped elevations. The Snow Leopard Ladakh is amended to live in the toughest and most difficult ecological situations. The body parts have dark-grey spots on the limbs. Both male and female look same. The tail of the leopard is thick and it is almost 1/3 of the body length.
