Shingo La Pass
Shingo La is an elevation pass that is located in the border of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Shingo La Pass is on a long distance trail that is connecting towards Zanskar and Lahaul.
Shingo La Pass Ladakh is mostly used by the trekkers and it is the coolest 5000 meters pass in Himalayas.
Shingola Pass has no connected glacier and trekking. The climate in the Shingo Pass is cold as snow falls for 12 months.
Shingo Pass is in a height of 5,100 meters.
Shingo La Pass is measured as the starting point to Lugnak Valley in Zanskar.
The most populated village on Zanskar side is Kurgiak and on Lahaul side is Chikka village. The villages include is 2 days trekking from the Shingola Pass.
There is a narrow lake that is 20 kilometers below the pass.The Indian government is scheduling to build road over Shingo La Pass.
There are no proper roads for going towards south from Zanskar. The cars can also travel till palamo that is around 8 kilometers from the Zanskar Sumdo.
Shingola Pass has no authorized sign announcing height of the pass.
