The original name used for Nubra Valley Ladakh is Ldumra meaning the valley of flowers. It is placed in the north of Ladakh region. Leh Palace shows the Ladakhi Himalayan city of Leh, built on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. In 17th century, the King Sengge Namgyal build the Leh Palace but later abandoned when Dogra forces him to have power over of Ladakh in 19th century. Stok Palace is a Buddhist monastery in Leh district,Ladakh, northern India, which is situated at a distance of 15 kilometres to the south of Leh. Stok Palace was founded by LamaLhawang Lotus in the 14th Century and has a notable library including all 108 volumes of the Kangjur and wanted places near nubra valley. A ritual dance-mask festival is held annually. It was used for some time as a residence by the Ladakhi royalty.

Hemis gompa is one of the major and wealthiest monatries in ladakh. Hemis gompa is run by Drukpa sect of Buddhism, which once flourished during the Namgyal dynasty. Guru Rimpoche were born on 5th month, 10th day which were predicted by Buddha Shakyamuni. It is supposed that he born on the earth in order to progress the religious condition of all living beings. Lord Buddha statue, Sacred thankas and stupas were kept inside the monastery. In hemis gompa, they also take pleasure in Annual Hemis festival, Sacred Dance Festival which takes on 9th & 10th day of the fifth month of the Tibetan calendar.The Hemis gompa festival takes place in the rectangular quad in front of the major entrance gate of the monastery.

Panamik which is called as the Pinchimik which is situated 22 km on the top of the valley of Sumur. A grubby rural place unseen by the pin-point peak of Charouk Dongchen, marks the northern part in India which is reachable to tourists. Just one kilometer beyond the hot springs ahead of the stone walls that comes from the potholed road is the village of Proper. Alchi Gompa is located 70 kms from Leh city by the banks of the Indus river on the path from Leh to Kargil. Alchi gompa is placed at an elevation of 10,200 feet. Alchi gompa is also separation of three villages which are positioned in lower Ladakh region. Du-khang, is the main and the oldest preserved structure of the complex. It is the most important place which is utilized by monks for ceremonies. It is one of the oldest monastery and places near nubra valley in Ladakh . Alchi is a small village with numerous tourist homestays, which offers latest amenities for overnight stays. During winter season, cold winds blow which comes from the Indus valley which makes you feel very cold. At the time of winter season most of the time sun does not comes that's why alchi monastery leh lies in shadow for most of the winter months.

Matho Monastery is located 26km from south east of Leh. It mainly belongs to Saskya order. Matho monastery were founded by Lama Tugpa Dorjay during 16th century. It is the only example of Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism as it does not lie on highway from Leh,so there are less visitors comes to visit this monastery. When these monks are given decision they perform their task without any hesitation and these monks perform their work by cutting their body by knives and walking on to the top storey without no fear and by closing their eyes. Annual Oracle Matho Nagrang Festival that is celebrated on 14th and 15th day of first month of the Tibetan calandar.

Ensa Gompa is placed on the outcrop of the river. Ensa Gompa is to be found in the unexpected valley of willow and poplar trees fed by a constant sweet-water stream.
