There are two roads to go to Ladakh, one is through the Srinagar-Leh road and the other is through Manali-Leh road.
Manali to Leh by road
Since 1989, the 473 km Manali to Leh by road has been serving as the second overland approach to Ladakh, open for traffic from around mid-June to early October. This high road traverses the upland desert plateau of Rupsho, altitude ranges fo 3,660 m to 4,570 m. Kargil to Leh by road
For reaching Kargil to Leh by road, we have to take the Srinagar – Ladakh Highway from Kargil and reach Leh. The total distance of is approximately 215 km.
Jaipur to Leh by road
For reaching Jaipur to Leh by road, we can take either the National Highway 1A route or NH 71 route. For NH 1A route we can take NH 1A and reach Srinagar and from there travel through Srinagar – Leh route and reach Leh. The total distance is approximately 1461 km. For NH 71 route we can travel through NH 71 and then connect to NH 1A and from there reach Srinagar, take the Srinagar – Leh route and reach Leh. The total distance of is approximately 1483 km.
