Hemis Festival
Hemis festival is one of the mainly well-known basic festivals of kargil festival which is organized in the month of June to honor the origin of Guru Padmasambhava, who was the originator of Tantric Buddhism in Tibet. The sacred dance drama of the life and work is celebrated wearisome facial masks and colorful brocades robes. Hemis festival is of three-day festival which takes place from 9th to 11th. Particularly the monkey year festival, that comes in a sequence of 12 years.
Dosmoche Festival
Dosmoche festival festival is organized in Leh Palace, Lower Ladakh and Deskit (Nubra valley) monasteries which is one of the important kargil festival in the month of February. The most famous among all is Leh Dosmochey festival , which is celebrated for two days in the courtyard of the Leh. The monks from eresiding from each monasteries carry out the Chams each year turn by turn. The festival takes place during the end and starting of the Tibetan New Year.
Matho Nagrang
Matho Nagrang is organized on 15th day of the 1st month from Tibetan calander in the Matho monastery, It the only monastery of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. During these two days of kargil festival, mask dances are performed by monks of the monastery, wearing colorful silk brocaded robes and mask in different forms of God and Goddesses. The festival is famous because of the appearance of the two oracles during the festival after full month.
Purgi Festivals
Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil organized Purgi Festivals which was of one day in the Tourist Dak Bungalow Mulbekh .Haji Ghulam Amir Kamran who were the Executive Councilor for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry was the Chief Guest,and the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC. Four enriching groups with 50 folk artists and musicians from Wakha Mulbekh region, and adjacent villages performed Purgi festivals with conventional music and dance programmes in the function.
Kargil Film Festival
The first Kargil Film Festival were organized on 19th May 2012. Peoples can send their films to the festival till 15th May 2012. Awam Ka Cinema were organized its first Kargil Film Festival on 19-20 May 2012. Kargil festival 2012 focuses on communal issues slightly other than economic and it has very less number of people which is repeatedly spotted and dispersed across the dissimilar parts of the world. It was very difficult for the filmmakers to reach out to such people with this cinema. Awam Ka Cinema had make persistent hard work for the past three years in order to organize the film festival in Kargil. It will be the first kargil festival 2012 of its kind in the the past of Laddakh region. Some outstanding and significant films will be showcased during the festival. This film festival will prove to be an unusual gift for the people of Laddakh.
